New Virtual Engineering Centre
Today, Applied has secured an order from The Virtual Engineering Centre (VEC), a University of Liverpool initiative in partnership with Northwest Aerospace Alliance, the Science and Technology Facilities Council (Daresbury Laboratory), BAE Systems, Morson Projects and Airbus, to supply the Dassault Systems CATIA, DELMIA and 3DVIA PLM software solutions.
VEC will provide a focal point for world class Virtual Engineering (VE) business, research, education and skills development, best practice demonstration and knowledge transfer for the aerospace sector.
Partially funded by the Northwest Regional Development Agency and European Regional Development fund, the objectives of the VEC are to significantly improve the overall business performance of the aerospace sector through the adoption of VE, and bring about a change in culture within participating organisations, including local SME's, to maximise their potential for growth.
This latest win at VEC adds to the already significant numbers of regional academic, research and collaborations initiatives Applied is engaged with in delivering Dassault Systemes PLM technologies within their academic partnership programs.
